Seaford Central Elementary School Orthopedically Handicapped Wing Renovations
The Seaford School District needed additional space to house the Sussex County Orthopedically Handicapped program. This is a medically fragile population. Of the 37 total students in the program, 14 require tube feedings while others have specialized medical regimens. StudioJAED was engaged by the District to design a new wing for Central Elementary School to house these students. The wings consists of 4 classrooms, 8 bathrooms/changing rooms, laundry, food preparation area, therapy suite with storage, and nurse's suite. As part of this construction an existing connector corridor between the cafeteria and an existing school hallway was demolished and rebuilt.
