Delaware State University
Residence Hall Assessments Additions & Improvements
Facilities condition assessments were conducted at 11 University buildings for the purpose of identifying deferred maintenance and capital renewal needs.
The assessment scope included an evaluation of all major building systems and such as structural, roofing, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and building envelope, as well as site improvements required to the immediate surrounding area for building access.
Individual corrective actions enable the University to do the following:
- Organize and sort data by building systems
- Prioritize data by recommended timeline to complete improvement (years)
- Identify “code compliance” based corrective actions and other potential “reason” categories (i.e. ADA, access, energy conservation, functionality, damage & wear, security, etc.)
- Estimate cost per improvement, sub-total by system, and aggregate total need by building
