StudioJAED conducted an assessment of 46 buildings with project manager, Gilbane i.management, a division of Gilbane Building Company, and educational adequacy narrative consultant, Maguire Group, Inc. StudioJAED performed the assessment to provide the Diocese with a comprehensive background of information needed to prepare a Capital Plan for future building improvements.
The facilities assessment program included analysis of the physical buildings, mechanical and electrical systems and system components and estimating costs for future required work. StudioJAED additionally provided an asset survey of major facility assets, such as roofs, doors and windows, as well as maintenance assets, including heating systems, generators, air handling units and electrical distribution equipment.
After assessing and documenting needed improvement for each facility, we compiled the information and provided estimated costs for building improvements. In addition, we detailed building/site deficiencies and appropriate corrections with priority level and reason. This was provided in our interactive database tool to allow Gilbane and the Diocese to sort and query the data to develop accurate budget projections and work scope reports. The Diocese of Providence used the assessment data to develop a long-range facilities plan.
