- Scope of Work: StudioJAED designed this building to be utilized as an exhibition facility for The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) during the annual Delaware State Fair. The roof was designed to enhance natural ventilation since the majority of the building was designed to be opened without heating or air conditioning. The clerestory windows near the roof can be opened or a power fan can be used to pull in cool air while exhausting hot air. The roof was designed to provide the least costly method of providing natural ventilation. A climatized area near the rear of the building features a small office, two classrooms and a small serving kitchen, and will be utilized by year-round DNREC staff. The exterior shed roofs provide a permanent covered area for outdoor exhibitions.
