Legislative Hall

  • Project: Legislative Hall
  • Square Footage: 64,000 square feet
  • Scope of Work: The expansions and renovations of Delaware's Legislative Hall involved new wings for the General Assembly, consisting of the House of Representatives and the Senate. StudioJAED Principal James R. Nelson, FAIA, NCARB, was selected to design the 64,000 square foot project. A Master Plan was completed that not only included new wings to house private offices and hearing and committee rooms, but also included renovations to the existing Tatnall Building, an adjoining structure that serves as the Executive Office for the Governor. A distinctive plaza was also added to the entrance. By moving the Governor and staff to the Tatnall Building, more space became available in Legislative Hall to house the vastly increased requirements of today's General Assembly.
